Inspiring Each Student to Succeed Every Day

Update 2 - MVSD schools will Re-Open Tomorrow, 1/9/25 at Regular Time

Posted Date: 1/08/25 (11:18 PM)

Dear Mountain View Families and Staff,

I want to update you regarding the recent wind event and the fires burning near our district. Our Maintenance and Operations, Custodial, and Administrative Teams arrived early this morning to assess any damage and ensure the safety of our facilities. Additional district office staff helped manage phone calls and supported the response efforts.

Though we experienced some damage, including downed trees, limbs, canopy failures, and fencing displacement, our facilities have held up well overall. The weather forecast indicates that the winds will subside by 6:00 pm today, and we are actively monitoring conditions.

The air quality report also indicates that we may be in the unhealthy range. Therefore, we will continue to assess the situation and take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of our students and staff, including providing indoor locations for students to remain during breaks.

Mountain View School District schools will be open tomorrow, Thursday, January 9, 2025, at regular time.

  • Face coverings will be available for students and staff who choose to use them.

  • We will be monitoring air quality conditions throughout the day and will implement outdoor restrictions as necessary to ensure everyone's health and safety, including indoor locations for students.

  • Regular meal services will resume as normal.

Should any additional concerns arise, we will send out communication by 6:00 a.m. tomorrow morning to notify you of any changes to our reopening plans.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to ensure a safe environment for all.

Sincerely,
Raymond Andry, Ed.D.
Superintendent
