Inspiring Each Student to Succeed Every Day

Parent Volunteers

Parent and Community Volunteers

Welcome Volunteers! Thank you for being a volunteer and partnering with us!

Thank you for partnering with us and volunteering your time in our schools. Children learn better when schools, families, and communities work together, and in Mountain View, we are fortunate to have extraordinary volunteers like you involved in the education of our students.

There is a great deal of research that continues to show the undeniable link between family partnerships and student achievement. The many benefits when families are involved in their child’s education include:

∙ Higher grades and test scores;
∙ Better attitudes and behavior;
∙ Better school attendance;
∙ More homework completed;
∙ Greater likelihood of graduating from high school; and
∙ Better chance of enrolling in postsecondary education.

Volunteers include parents, older brothers and sisters, grandparents, aunts and uncles, senior citizens and business and professional people who have the willingness to work with and support our schools.

They can read a story, help in the office, work in the school library, help with monitoring school activities, assist on field trips, and decorate for special events and assemblies.

Volunteers are the unsung heroes who willingly share their time, talents, and energy to help make our schools and districts run better.

By working with your Community Liaison, you will be able to create a program that meets the needs of the schools as well as affords you all the enjoyment and personal satisfaction that being a volunteer brings.

At MVSD, we are committed to creating an educational environment in which students are given the opportunity to reach their full potential, and we appreciate your willingness to help us with this awesome task.

As partners in learning, we can increase student achievement for all and make a positive difference in the lives of each child in our care.

On behalf of our schools, students, teachers, classified staff, administrators, and the Board of Education, thank you again for giving your time to volunteer in our schools.

We value you as a volunteer and appreciate your dedication to the students as a supporter, role model, and mentor.

Parent

Volunteers are one of the greatest resources of the Mountain View School District. People like you, who give their time, energy, and talents to assist, are essential to our ability to deliver excellence throughout our district. We are committed to creating opportunities for the community to be involved at our school sites, and many of our programs would not be able to carry out their goals if volunteers were not involved. Our volunteers are priceless.
